BIHAR FLOOD REPORT - Doctors For You

Activity report by Doctorsforyou(D4U)



What we did??


1. Our team of 48+ doctors got subdivided to see patients in the following zones:

a) Araria & Purniya

b) Khagaria – Sadar Hospital & an NGO there

c) Saharsa Sadar Hospital OPD – on request of Civil Surgeon there

d) Saharsa Sadar Hospital Emergency – on request of CMO there

e) Katayia – Relief camp of Mr Prakash Jha of Mumbai

f) Supaul – with AIIMS doctors

g) Badgaon – a village with population of 10,000 where our team was the first ever to reach for any relief.


we started managing critical patients by bringing them into EMRI ambulance which had all the supports & paraphernalia but space.

1. Army Doctors were generous to offer IV fluids from there surplus stocks, if needed

2. Met WHO officials who briefed us about untouched areas and guided our thoughts regarding medical requirements there

3. Met AIIMS doctors who utilized us effectively in the medical relief camps identified by them and briefed us about the ground situations

4. Met MSF(Medicine Sans Frontiers) doctor, who is happy to consider for joint activity with D4U where the mobile team will go and serve in the deep interiors and stay there only for 5 days at a stretch
