A team of 40 doctors & 1 social worker left Mumbai on 15th september for Patna. it reached Patna 0n 17th september, & was joined by another team of 15 doctors & non medico volunteers from Delhi and Bhopal.
- On 17th, A brief training session was held for them by Dr. Vivek Chhabra, executive coordinator (emergency medicine) of "Doctors For You".
- After felicitation by Bihar Rafta committee, which was held at Bihar Urdu Academy, the team of doctors & non medico volunteers left for its base camp at Khagariya district.
- following is the list of "Doctors For You" members working at various locations in the flood affected region:
1. Saharsa district - a team of 15 doctors, led by Dr. Ravikant Singh, Chief Coordinator (Doctors For You) is managing the Sadar Hospital (Civil Hospital)
2. Khagaria district - a team of 5 doctors led by noted paediatrician Dr. Tango from Mumbai is working at the Sadar Hoapital
3. while a team of 2 doctors is providing medical services at the relief camp , run by "India Today" group at Beldaur, Khagariya
4. Supaul district - a team of 5 doctors is working at Kataiya camp, run by noted film maker "Prakash Jha". they have already dispensed care to 345 patients
5. Purnia district - Dr. Arun & Dr. Manoj are working at a camp run by "The Art of Living Foundation" at Banmankhi. In the last 8 days, they had reached there before the main team, they have treated over a thousand pts.
6. Araria district - a team of 6 doctors is working in association with the "Rafta Samaj & Civil Surgeon" of Araria. the team is led by Dr. Mukund Kedia
7. Purnia district - Dr. Shahnawaz Alam is working with a team of 8 Physicians.
8. While a 2 member team of "Youth for Equality" is touring the Bhuthai dam,Triveniganj in Supaul district along with "Volunteers from Tata Institute of Social Sciences" & Dept of Social Studies, Delhi University
9. Dr. Sanjeev Kumar is camping with a team of 6 doctors in the Sonbarsa district
While, Jainendra Kumar, Patron, "Doctors For You", is extending help to the flood victims in the different camps in Supaul & Saharsa districts along with a team of 25 medico & non medico volunteers.
